Presentation 1 by Raul Pena

I must admit that I was a little skeptical at the beginning of the presentation, there is no way this is coming out the right? This was my first time doing a remote presentation in addition to other people that were also remote. I must admit that our chapter "Intercultural Communication" was the most interesting one, at least in my personal opinion, it showed cultures may differ between each other, barriers that came come along with these differences, overall it was a very informative one.  Despite one of us being late and some technical problems, I like how it came along at the end, our dynamic was really good, and we were synchronized despite the fact that we have never met each other. The only thing we believe we fail was adding a closing argument or final thought like the other two groups did.

Group two presentation was about chapter Ten "Communication in Groups" and they talked about different types of groups like family and work, and ways to handle conflict between them and within each one. During Natalia's presentation, I have a nice chuckle when she explained Consensual Families, in which families discuss and issue but only one family member takes the decision. "umm so this is how is called when my Mon decides something" I thought to myself. Overall group two did an amazing job with their presentation. Their PowerPoint presentation was very nice, full of key information on their chapter, not to mention the adding of the videos that showed them self doing the presentation was a really unique approach. They fool me for sure I thought they were presenting live for a moment there. Despite the lack of participation in the class at the end. I believe the Jeopardy ending of the presentation was a really nice addition, it helps us to engage even more with their chapter. Great Job Group Two!

Now is time for Group Three, their presentation was about chapter 10 "Group Leadership and Problem Solving". This was a unique chapter, it provided information on a specific topic. This is great knowledge to have especially now during school since we have a lot of group projects to make. I like their presentation, I think it was a very professional they choose a pattern that helps us keep engage with the presentation and all the slides had a key point of the chapter, not too overcrowded with words to keep our focus on the topic. They also implement a lot of class participation in their presentation which was a nice addition as it was another way to keep us engaged. Especially At the end when Miguel took over with the evaluation points, I have to say that he is a very charismatic person.

Overall I think we all did a great job for our first presentation if we keep in mind that we were doing something remote. I am sure that if we were in the classroom meeting face to face this would have been a 200% better of what already is. I'm looking forward to our next presentation.

  1. Excellent description of the chapters! I really like your comments about each presentation. I believe even remotely you are all doing great. I think our conversations and the group work is equal to my classes from other semesters. Great job!!
